One Cool Little Projector October 7, 2009 Michael L. Wilson 38 out of 41 found this review helpful
OK I can't believe I am the first to review this little guy. I got mine yesterday and have been very happy with it. If you read carefully, it does everything it says it will in the specs. It was packaged great, and included three adapters - one VGA, one USB, and one composite video and audio cable.
It was brighter than I expected and easily hooked up to my laptop running Vista with no problems. The included Video Encoder worked as advertised (though I am not sure why it can't just play standard MP4 video...) and photos loaded fine. The interface is very intuitive.
I did purchase a cheap tripod (~12 bucks) with it and I am glad I did - this thing is so small it would be hard to get it pointed exactly right without.
Let's face it - this isn't great for someone working on a projector all day every day - you need better resolution and more lumens. But for the average geek at home this thing is perfect. For occasional use with laptop, or videos, or just still photo slide shows.
The unit was even smaller than I expected when I got my hands on it. To say it's the size of a cell phone is no exaggeration.
For a $250 this is one gadget you might consider in your arsenal!
Great purchase November 17, 2009 cbuch (San Diego, CA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
We had a projector in the past that was bulky and once the $500 bulb burned out, never used again. I love how small and portable the pico projector is. We used it at our halloween party to play movies on the back of our second story house. We also plan to use it in the desert. The picture quality is great and it's very easy to use. Overall, great product!
A great accessory to my iphone! September 3, 2010 Chien-Ying Lin (CT) This little unit is about the size of my iPHONE, and it is great for geeky people who wants to show off to friends a new gadget in their possession. I believe it has a 4GB internal memory with a software which you can download onto your laptop to convert your video files into MPEG2, MPEG4, RM, WMV, etc. That is a lot of different various encoders within $250 package. It has VGA cable, USB cable, and composite video and audio as well. The only down fall would be the brightness. It is not bright at all...I think it is only 20 lumens, which is fine when you turn off all the lights in the room. It is very easy to use, and it loads up to bigger than most of the TVs in the market. This is a great gadget for sales people who travels all the time. You can do presentations without carrying bulky projectors. I would advise to buy a tripod as you probably would need to elevate the PK102 on the table.
